Project Description

Workshop: Criminal procedure and digital evidence | March 9th

With the advances of new technologies, the panorama of crime has changed substantially, either because we witness the emergence of an unprecedented criminal phenomena, in which the means of committing the crime, the target of the criminal behavior or the values protected by criminal law are themselves digital, either because classic criminal law was not left untouched, particularly on how “traditional crimes” are now committed.
Of course, this technological revolution also brought important challenges to the criminal procedure. An effective criminal investigation now involves, more often than not, a technical-legal expertise of a reality relatively unknown.

This workshop intends to promote an interdisciplinary discussion to contribute towards a better understanding of some of the problematic issues in the field of criminal investigation regarding this type of criminality.

The meeting will begin at 9:30 am in the Hearing Room of the University of Minho Law School.
