The second session of the Conference Cycle “Jurisprudential Dialogues on Human Rights”, designed to foster discussion on current issues concerning human rights and the role of the courts, will take place on 22 October at 3:00 p.m. (Braga time), in an online format.
This session, held in Spanish, will focus on the protection of the rights of LGBTIQ+ persons and on the role of human rights protection systems with regard to sexual orientation and gender identity. Through a comparative analysis of the case law of the European Court of Human Rights and the Inter-American Court of Human Rights, special attention will be given to the European and Inter-American systems.
The session will feature Javier Teodoro Álvarez, Professor of Law at the University of Buenos Aires, the University of Palermo, and the Inter-American Open University.
Contributions will also be made by Ana Maria Brandão, from the Institute of Social Sciences of the University of Minho, and Ana Rita Cardoso, member of JusGov’s School of Researchers.
The session will be moderated by Sergio Ruiz Díaz Arce, Doctoral Integrated Researcher at JusGov.
