Recognising the social salience of remote work within the living fabric of contemporary labour relations, the purpose of this volume is to delineate the legal framework of remote work under two distinct yet organically connected dimensions. In the first dimension, the legal regime of remote work is examined within the Portuguese context, observing both the pathways charted by the Portuguese legislator and the embryonic patterns currently emerging within the ecosystem of comparative law. In the second dimension, the analysis extends to the international plane, where the notion of the international contract of employment is anatomised, together with the solutions devised as regards the internationally competent forum and the applicable law governing such contracts, as well as the particular morphological traits that remote work assumes in this transnational habitat.
