JusGov researchers Pedro Trovão do Rosário and Ruben Bahamonde undertake a distinguished journey through the Angolan province of Luanda, taking part in eminent gatherings devoted to constitutional and legal reflection within the Lusophone world.

The voyage commenced on 22 September with the First International Meeting on Constitutional Law at IMETRO, where Pedro Trovão do Rosário addressed the theme “Fundamental Rights and Disability in the Lusophone Context”, whilst Ruben Bahamonde delivered a lecture on “Mediation as a Means to Access Justice in the Lusophone Context”. On the following day, 23 September, the Francisco Mateta Auditorium, on Avenida Quenguela Norte, hosted an Open Lecture convened by the Academy of Social Sciences and Technologies, on “Constitution, Security and National Defence in the Lusophone World”, led by Pedro Trovão do Rosário together with Paulo Roberto Barbosa Ramos, of the Federal University of Maranhão, Brazil. Their itinerary culminates in the First Afro-Luso-Brazilian Congress on Comparative Constitutional Law (24-26 September), held at the University Agostinho Neto, where Pedro Trovão do Rosário discoursed on “Constitutionalism and Citizenship” and Ruben Bahamonde spoke on “Cybersecurity and the Protection of Fundamental Rights in a Secure Digital Environment”.

More than a succession of scholarly engagements, this mission of our Centre’s researchers underscores the indispensable role of JusGov in the ceaseless cultivation of the Lusophone community’s global dialogue — a living forum of active citizenship and international cooperation.
