With the aim of addressing longstanding issues and unveiling new challenges in the legal world, while contributing to the development of new lines of scientific research, the Quid Juris Podcast was created.

This project is an initiative of the JusGov Researchers’ School – Research Centre for Justice and Governance, at the School of Law of the University of Minho. Periodically, a distinguished professional is invited to lead discussions on prominent legal topics.

The debate, once confined to the intersection between the healthcare and legal sectors, has now expanded to include other “tribes,” particularly the field of technology. In this discussion, we seek to conduct an Anatomy of Health through a Legal Lens, bringing together a medical doctor, an ethicist, and a legal expert to explore some of the challenges posed by technological advancements to law, ethics, and healthcare.

Professor Nuno Sousa is a lecturer at the School of Medicine of the University of Minho and at Upstate Medical University in New York. He is a neuroradiologist, a researcher at the ICVS, and Director of the Academic Clinical Centre of Hospital de Braga and the Digital Medical Center P5. He coordinates several national and international scientific projects in the fields of neuroscience and digital health and serves on multiple advisory boards for medical education and assessment.

Professor Nadine Santos is a lecturer at the School of Medicine of the University of Minho, a researcher at the Digital Medical Center P5 and the Life and Health Sciences Research Institute (ICVS). She currently serves as Vice-President of the Ethics Committee for Research in Life and Health Sciences at the University of Minho.

Professor Anabela Gonçalves is a lecturer at the School of Law of the University of Minho, a member of the Career Guidance Office, and part of several governing bodies of the School of Law. She is also Director of the Master’s Programme in Transnational Business Law and Digital Technologies, jointly offered with the University of Santiago de Compostela. Since 2014, she has been a regular Expert for the European Commission in various legal domains.
