On July 9, 2024, a research meeting was held with five students from the University of Pennsylvania who, as part of a protocol with the School of Law at the University of Minho, are conducting a research stay at JusGov under the supervision of several JusGov researchers.
Carina Li, Louis Dong, Maya Ballerstedt, Omar Sweidan, and Rhinda Sudhini delivered an engaging and informative session on the U.S. electoral system and presented various topics related to their research, which has been developed under the guidance of Marta Santos Silva, Sergio Ruiz Díaz Arce, Bruno Reynaud de Sousa, Gema Pérez Souto, and Sónia Moreira, respectively.
A wide range of topics were discussed, including green nudges, the judiciary and democracy, sexual and reproductive health, freedom of expression, and artificial intelligence. The session highlighted the depth of the research conducted and underscored the importance of internationalization.
