Gema Souto, Researcher at JusGov, joins the team of the international project “Desafíos para la seguridad de la frontera sur ante el nuevo escenario estratégico”, led by the National University of Distance Education (UNED, Madrid) and funded under the “Proyectos de Generación de Conocimiento” by the Ministry of Science and Innovation of Spain.
The project assembles researchers from a range of European universities, legal consultants, and representatives of the Spanish Civil Guard and Frontex, with the objective of analysing and proposing integrated strategies to address the geopolitical and security challenges at the southern border of the European Union, encompassing migration, maritime security, energy, economic matters, and fundamental rights.
Gema Souto’s participation as a team member reflects not only the JusGov community’s commitment to research within the EU’s Area of Freedom, Security and Justice, but also our researchers’ strategic emphasis on internationalisation and collaborative engagement.
