On 17 October, the School of Law of the University of Minho will host the event “Child Trafficking in Portugal and Worldwide — Prevention and Protection of Victims”, in the Grand Auditorium. The initiative takes place in the context of the European Anti-Trafficking Day, observed annually on 18 October.

This session will provide an opportunity to reflect on the global and national dimensions of child trafficking, with a focus on prevention, protection, and appropriate legal responses. Through interdisciplinary and multisectoral dialogue, the event will highlight the urgent need for institutions, professionals, and the civil society to join forces in combatting this egregious human rights violation.

By convening this discussion, we are reinforcing our commitment to advancing knowledge and public awareness on issues of justice and human dignity, contributing to the broader European and international efforts to prioritise safeguarding the rights of society’s most vulnerable members.
