Bruno Reynaud de Sousa, a researcher at the Research Centre for Justice and Governance of the School of Law of the University of Minho has been selected to participate in the Summer Workshop on Teaching Space (SWOTS), an intensive short-course designed to enhance academic engagement with space-related issues. The workshop, organized by United States Space Force and the Johns Hopkins University’s School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), brings together university faculty and advanced graduate students from across disciplines to explore the fundamentals of space, innovative teaching methods, and current challenges in the space domain.

SWOTS provides a comprehensive curriculum covering space security, exploration, commercialization, and classic works in space studies. It also equips participants with active learning strategies and classroom tools, helping them become not just informed scholars, but effective educators. The program offers direct access to high-level officials from government and industry and promotes academic networking to strengthen the global community of space-focused researchers and teachers.

Participation in this initiative reinforces the University of Minho’s commitment to academic excellence and innovation in the field of space law and policy.

Financed by national funds through the National Agency for Science and Technology, FCT (Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia – FCT I.P.), under the project UID/05749/JusGov – Research Centre for Justice and Governance.
