The legal system observes the scientific system, just as the latter observes the former.

Each system, however, is self-referential and governed by its own criteria of validation. As a result, encounters between systems give rise to irritations.

These tensions—none of which can be resolved unilaterally by either system—compel each to process exogenous stimuli, translating them into endogenous responses.

In this context, Darío Rodríguez Mansilla invites us to reflect on a paradox: the closed nature of each system is precisely what enhances its evolutionary dynamism.
