The public presentation of the UMinho Scientific Research Initiation Award 2024 took place on December 5th.
This initiative, promoted by the Rectorate in collaboration with the University of Minho’s research centers, has allowed undergraduate students and those in the early years of integrated master’s programs to develop scientific projects as part of research teams of recognized merit over the past few months.
Students Maria Beatriz de Lemos Teixeira e Melo and Beatriz Basto Lima de Araújo Gama presented the projects they developed within JusGov:
– Maria Beatriz de Lemos Teixeira e Melo – “The Role of the Supreme Court of Justice in Cases of Domestic Violence Against Women in the Current Decade” (Supervised by Prof. Joaquim Rocha);
– Beatriz Basto Lima de Araújo Gama – “The Meaning and Purpose of Criminal Sanctions: The Concept of More Humane Sentencing” (Supervised by Prof. Ana Rita Simões).
Student Maria Beatriz de Lemos Teixeira e Melo was awarded for her project presentation.
JusGov congratulates both students on their outstanding participation, particularly Maria Beatriz de Lemos Teixeira e Melo, and extends special thanks to the supervising professors, as well as to Prof. Hugo Flores, coordinator of JusGov’s participation in the UMinho Award.
