The I GLOBAL CONGRESS ON HUMAN RIGHTS: New citizenship and sustainable development policies, to be held from the 16th until the 19th January, in Lamego, at Teatro Ribeiro Conceição, co-organized by JusGov, aims to reflect on the 17 Sustainable Development Goals listed by the United Nations in 2015. The transnationality of human rights allows fundamental issues to be discussed at an international academic event, fostering new ideas and scientific development from a multidisciplinary perspective. By providing this multidisciplinary and international forum, the I GLOBAL CONGRESS ON HUMAN RIGHTS: New citizenship and sustainable development policies aims to contribute to a more just and solidary society.

JusGov’s Director, Patricia Jerónimo, was invited to participate in the 9th Session of the event, to be held on January 19th, which will discuss CEDAW’s 40 years and take stock of the advances and remaining challenges in achieving and sustaining gender equality.
