On the 3rd of March, JusGov researcher Teresa Coelho Moreira took part in the Opening Conference of the Congress “International Dialogues: Labour Relations in Contemporary Society”, held at the Brazilian Superior Labour Court in Brasília, where she addressed the theme “Human Labour Between Algorithmic Governance and the Reaffirmation of the Social Bond”. Within the framework of this international gathering, which brought together academics and practitioners from multiple jurisdictions, the volume Comparative Studies on Labour Law in the Digital Era was also launched. This open-access collective work includes a chapter authored by our researcher, titled “Work on Digital Platforms and Article 12-A of the Portuguese Labour Code: Jurisprudential Developments”.

The congress provided a fertile platform for interdisciplinary reflection on the evolving architecture of contemporary labour relations, with contributions from Brazil, Spain, Chile, Mexico, and the United States. Organised by the Brazilian Superior Labour Court and the National School for the Training and Advancement of Labour Judges, the event foregrounded the emerging challenges posed by digitalisation, algorithmic governance, and the reconfiguration of labour bonds on a global scale, fostering dialogue at the intersection of law, technology, and public policy.

On the 5th of March, also in Brasília, Teresa Coelho Moreira further contributed to the Training of Trainers Course on Labour Relations in Contemporary Society, again hosted at the Brazilian Superior Labour Court, where she delivered a lecture on “The Challenge of Regulating Platform Work: A Comparative Law Perspective”. Our researcher’s participation in high-level international forums of this nature signals the sustained consolidation of JusGov within transnational scientific networks, reflecting an ongoing institutional commitment to advancing nuanced understandings of the dynamic forces shaping the present and future of the world of labour.
