Abstract This Lusophone Commentary to the African Charter on Human and Peoples’ Rights offers a detailed annotation to the legal text at the centre of the African system of human rights, to serve as a reference for students and researchers, as well as a tool for legal practitioners and human rights defenders. The Commentary brings together academics and legal practitioners from all Portuguese speaking countries, while building interdisciplinary bridges with other disciplines, in particular with the African Studies.
