Professor at the Law School of the University of Minho European Union Special Envoy for the Transition Process for Democracy in the Democratic Republic of Congo Member of the Management Board of the European Monitoring Center on Racism, Xenophobia and Anti-Semitism in Vienna and Vice-President of the Convention for the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union Member of the Superior Council of the Public Prosecutor’s Office He joined the 50-year National Commission of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights Honorary member of the Romani Union, national association representing the gypsy community in Portugal Professor Guimarães Rodrigues was a candidate for the position of Magnificent Rector of the University of Minho (2002).
