Project Description
Workshop “Standardization, local power and decentralization (Europe – Brazil)” | November 21st
Globalization and the fragmentation tendencies of states’ power impose a rethinking of normative action and the presence of law in the contemporary world.
Will deepening democracy, in this context, involve greater involvement and accountability of citizens and communities? Will subsidiarity be a crucial principle in a new and increasingly outdated order? Will local power and the strengthening of its capacity for political and administrative intervention be factors of deepening Democracy in these times? The debate aims to address these issues, in a comparative perspective between what is happening in Brazil and in Europe.
Target audience: Teachers and Researchers of EDUM, PhD and Master Students
