Project Description

Open Class – Challenges of the Law of Administrative and Tax Procedures: the view of the administrative judge | May 25th

At a time when proposals are being made for the unification of common and administrative jurisdiction, with the creation of a single Supreme Court and a single High Council of the judiciary, the University of Minho Law School promotes a reflection on the challenges that the administrative judge faces in the application of the multiple sources of Administrative Law and Tax Law.

There are many reasons for the autonomy of administrative and fiscal jurisdiction: the historical legacy, the reality of the litigation in force in most European states, the Portuguese constitutional normative regime and, last but not least, the technicality of the administrative and tax knowledge of the administrative judge.

In this context, the Law School promotes the debate on May 25th, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and also invites everyone to attend the presentation session of the Code of Administrative Procedure. Reviewed by Judges Eliana Almeida Pinto, Dra. Isabel Silva and Dr. Jorge Costa.
