The purpose of this conference is to discuss the recent amendments to the Portuguese administrative and tax system. Bearing in mind that recent statistics show that judicial pendency is one of the most relevant causes of system inefficiency, the proposals contain measures that seek to minimize it and foster speed and achievement of objectives. At the same time, measures to strengthen the guaranties of the administrators and taxpayers are envisaged.
