Colloquium “The principle of dignity of the human person and private law. Rethinking personality rights?” | December 14th

The School of Law of the University of Minho and the Interdisciplinary Research Center for Human Rights, through its research groups on human rights and biomedicine and in private law – phenomena of constitutionalisation, materialization and socialization, organize a colloquium on “The principle of dignity of the human person and private law. Rethinking personality rights? ”

What motivates this initiative is the conviction that the time has come to rethink the personality rights recognized in the Portuguese Civil Code, justifying a greater articulation between this matter and fundamental rights, based on the principle of the dignity of the human person.

The works will be opened by the President of the Constitutional Court, Professor Joaquim de Sousa Ribeiro, and will be attended by and with the participation of judges of the Constitutional Court and of different professors and researchers of the University of Coimbra, Nova Unievrsity of Lisbon, University of Porto, Catholic Portuguese University and University of Minho.
