Health & Law: Perspectives in Dialogue

This project seeks to bring together the fields of Law and Health in a research endeavour focused on issues of both theoretical and practical significance to these two disciplines. It proceeds from the recognition that the challenges arising in this field are inherently complex and can only be adequately addressed through the contributions of the various scientific disciplines devoted to their understanding and resolution. Accordingly, the project aims, through the promotion of a multidisciplinary dialogue, to identify the principal gaps that remain in key issues at the intersection of Law and Health and to explore potential solutions. To this end, a series of thematic workshops will be organised with the purpose of providing an open and intellectually secure space for multidisciplinary dialogue, enabling researchers to contribute to critical reflection on the topics under discussion. Each workshop will include three to four short presentations, which will serve as a starting point for discussion. The workshops will be preceded by a permanent call for papers, open throughout the duration of the project and addressed to early-career researchers (including doctoral and master’s students), with the aim of fostering the integration of younger scholars into academic projects and providing them with an opportunity to present their own research. The workshop series will extend over a two-year period, and all participants will be invited to develop their contributions into written texts. These will be published online as working papers throughout the duration of the project and will culminate, at its conclusion, in the publication of an e-book reflecting the collective reflections and discussions developed over the course of the project.
