Maria Miguel Carvalho is the only Portuguese researcher and university professor participating in the Derecho de Marcas e Inteligencia Artificial/Trade Mark Law and Artificial Intelligence (MARIA) project, led by the Spanish Faculty of Law of the University of A Coruña and funded by the Agencia Estatal de Investigación/State Research Agency (State R+D+i Programme oriented to the Challenges of Society).
Within the framework of this project, whose results have been disseminated at international conferences, the book El Derecho de Marcas y de la Competencia ante las tecnologias de vanguardia, directed by Professors Rafael García Pérez and Marta Cernadas Lázare, has just been published by the prestigious Spanish publisher Tirant lo Blanch, including a chapter by Professor Maria Miguel Carvalho entitled “Artificial intelligence and trademark infringement”.
