Let’s talk (about) Law?

The “Quid Juris Podcast” was created with the purpose of discussing old and uncover new challenges for the legal world, contributing to the development of new lines of scientific research.

This is a project of the Research School of JusGov – Research Center for Justice and Governance, of the Law School of the University of Minho, in which, periodically, a personality with an outstanding professional career is invited to open the discussion on important issues in the legal world.

The various movements and initiatives in defence of the environment have given rise to heated debates and profound reflections on the quality of life of citizens, on the damage that certain conducts cause to nature and to people and on the commitments that have been assumed worldwide in order to concert the actions of all States in the promotion of a more sustainable environment.
In a conversation dedicated to environmental law, we tried to understand, with Professor Ana Júlia Cavaleiro and Professor Carlos Abreu Amorim, the aspirations that this recent branch of law presents, the state of the art and the challenges ahead.
Dr Ana Júlia Cavaleiro is a university lecturer and researcher at the Centre for Biological Engineering (CEB) of the University of Minho. Our guest has a degree in environmental engineering, a master in environmental technologies and a PhD in chemical and biological engineering. She was awarded by NASA in the 12th International Workshop on Environment and Alternative Energies.
Doctor Carlos Abreu Amorim is a university lecturer and researcher at the Centre for Research in Justice and Governance of the Law School of the University of Minho. Our guest has a degree in law, a master’s degree in legal-political sciences and a doctorate in legal sciences. He was a member of the Portuguese Parliament for several years, during which time he was part, among others, of the Constitutional Affairs, Rights, Freedoms and Guarantees Committee and the Environment, Spatial Planning and Local Government Committee.
