The “Quid Juris Podcast” was created with the purpose of discussing old and uncover new challenges for the legal world, contributing to the development of new lines of scientific research.
This is a project of the Research School of JusGov – Research Center for Justice and Governance, of the Law School of the University of Minho, in which, periodically, a personality with an outstanding professional career is invited to open the discussion on important issues in the legal world.
Recent events, especially the war scenario that Europe is facing, the cyber attacks that several organisations have been subject to and, on the other hand, the new criminal trends serve as a basis for this discussion. Undoubtedly, technology has significantly shaped the way we relate to each other in society. It has brought with it the idea of advancement, progress and innovation, but, simultaneously, it has placed us before new dangers and challenges.
In a conversation dedicated to “Cyberspace: between security and crime”, we try to establish, with Professor Pedro Miguel Freitas, the convenient connection between Law and Cybersecurity.
Dr. Pedro Miguel Freitas is a university lecturer at the Portuguese Catholic University, Law School of Porto and a researcher at the Centre for Studies and Research in Law and at the Centre for Research in Justice and Governance of the Law School of the University of Minho. Our guest holds a degree in law, a master’s degree in judicial law and a doctorate in public legal sciences. His areas of interest lie between criminal law and law and technology, within which he has published several scientific articles.
