JusGov’s researcher Filipe Venade has just published the article “Os direitos sociais das pessoas com deficiência e a centralidade da Convenção das Nações Unidas sobre os Direitos das Pessoas com Deficiência [The social rights of persons with disabilities and the centrality of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities]” at Revista Inclusiones edited in Chile by Cuadernos de Sofía Editorial.

Filipe Venade’s article focuses on the protection of the rights under the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. It further demonstrates that the applicability of the Convention also implies the requirement to promote all fundamental rights and freedoms, namely the realization and all necessary adaptations, the elimination of any barriers that prevent the full exercise of rights and fundamental freedoms of persons with disabilities.
