Alex Sander Pires has a double doctoral degree, with a PhD in Legal and Social Sciences (2009) with post-doctoral studies in European constitutional justice (2009) and in Human Rights (to be completed in 2023), and also a PhD in Political Science (2015). In addition, he is a Master in Law (2009), Specialist in Higher Teaching (2022), Specialist in Contemporary Philosophy (2013), Specialist in Civil Law and Procedure (2004), and Specialist in State and Administrative Law (2002), in addition to Degree in Law (2001). As a university professor, he has a long experience of more than twenty years teaching undergraduate (Brazil and Portugal), specialization (Brazil and Portugal), master’s (Portugal and United States of America) and doctoral courses (Portugal and Argentina).

For reference in research and internationalization, he is a CNPQ researcher in Brazil in three Research Centers (CIDEP, UFMA and USU), a member of the Editorial Board of Scientific Journals and a supporter of research networks, as well as the Secretary General and Founder of Ethical and Compliance International Institute (ECII), since 2019, Member of the Association Française de Science Politique (AFSP), since 2020, Member of the American Political Science Association (APSA), since 2020, Member of the International Political Science Association (IPSA), as a member of the Research Groups RC26 (Human Rights) and RC46 (Migration and Citizenship), and, Member of the International Association of Constitutional Law, as a member of the Research Group on Human Rights and Constitutional Challenges.

In terms of scientific production, he has published more than forty texts, in addition to participating in national and international events, having delivered more than eighty conferences, and organized numerous events from seminars to international congresses in reference to the Research Groups of which he is a member, with emphasis on for the Center for Research and Development in Legal Sciences Ratio Legis/UAL (former Member of the Board, Member of the Scientific Committee, Coordinator of GI and researcher), and Center for Research & Development in Law and Society CEDIS/FD/UNL (Member of the Scientific and Collaborating Committee).

Within the scope of the 26th World Congress of Political Science organized by the International Political Science Association (IPSA), he was responsible for two panels, at RC26 (Human Rights), entitled: Culture of Peace and Human Rights — A Political Approach; and RC46 (Migration and Citizenship), entitled, Culture of Peace and New Nationalisms: Dialogue and respect to restrain the extremism.

2. I International Congress on Governance, Ethics and Compliance, acting as reviewer of abstracts, event organizer, coordinator for integration with the Research Group on Culture of Peace and Democracy linked to the Ratio Legis/UAL, and mediator on the panel on “Ethics : duty and conscience”.

Within the scope of the Research Line on “Human Rights vs. Terrorism: the Portuguese Experience”, as a variable of the Research Group on Law, Security and Democracy under the Coordination of Professor Jorge Bacelar Gouveia linked to CEDIS/FDUNL, was responsible for three International Meetings held in the form of International Seminars.
