DESCRIPTION:Robert Junqueira asks whether legal reasoning can become species-agnostic without becoming species-blind. He argues that law should not treat species as a dispositive shortcut\, but must still specify the capacities\, harms\, duties\, representatives\, and institutions that make animal rightsholding legally intelligible. Junqueira’s focus is on the grammar of moral status: how law can move from anti-speciesist critique to responsible claims about animal rights without slogans\, rights inflation\, or false equivalence with human citizenship.
