Democracy depends, in many ways, on proximity. The EDUM Chair of Local Government, in collaboration with JusGov and in a comparative Luso-Brazilian framework, aims to reflect on the advantages and disadvantages of granting public functions to infra-state entities, particularly in sensitive areas such as education and health. To this end, the debate will be enriched by the contribution of renowned specialists from the National Confederation of Brazilian Municipalities who will report on the experiences that have been carried out in the Brazilian legal system, which is quite different from the Portuguese.
