The Law School of the University of Minho and JusGov – Research Centre for Justice and Governance, in partnership with the Medical School and the ICVS – Institute for Life and Health Research, challenge the academic community and society to join the conversation on the topic of personal data protection in clinical research.
The European legal framework on the protection of personal data has imposed a new discipline in order to strengthen the confidence of citizens in the European Union, with regard to data processing. Even so, aware that in recent years technology has undergone developments never seen before and has extended to various fields, particularly health and clinical research, the European legislator has established a favourable regime for the context of scientific research in general.
In this context, we will seek to promote a healthy and critical debate on the main issues arising from the processing of personal data in the field of clinical research.
We invite you to take part in this debate.
