Workshop “Economic democracy and social responsibility” | January 16th

Workshop “Economic Democracy and Social Responsibility in Technological Societies”, with professors from the Faculty of Law of Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie (S. Paulo, Brazil), State University of Londrina (Brazil), Faculty of Law of the University of Porto and the School of the University of Minho (EDUM), on January 16, at 9:15 am, in the EDUM researchers’ room in Braga.

Ana Flávia Messa (Faculty of Law of Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie) and Maria Miguel Carvalho (EDUM), mainly addressed by professors, researchers, doctoral students and masters. Globalized economic development raises important issues of ethics, morals and law. Will economic democracy impose a reinforcement of social responsibility in contemporary technological societies? This workshop was debated, among others, on a number of issues, such as the limits and challenges of democratic public governance, transnational corruption, democracy, human rights and civil liability, the “fate” of corruption and bribery and the effects of the award-winning delinquency in corporate crimes.
