I Ibero-American Congress on New Legal Challenges, University of Santiago de Compostela | October 29th and 30th

CEDU offers scientific support to the First Ibero-American Congress on New Legal Challenges, organized by the University of Santiago de Compostela, which takes place from October 29 to 30, 2015 at that Galician university.

The direction of the event is in charge of two CEDU Collaborating Members: Prof. Maria Teresa Carballeira Rivera and Prof. Antonio-Carlos Pereira Menaut (respectively, Professor of Administrative Law and Professor of Constitutional Law, both accredited to Professors, University of Santiago de Compostela).

The Director of CEDU, Prof. Alessandra Silveira, will have the honor to make the first intervention of the event as Guest Professor, through a communication entitled “From market citizenship to republican citizenship via social citizenship: advances and retreats of the integration process in light of the jurisprudence of the CJEU” .

As panelists, the following CEDU Integrated Members also participated: Anabela Susana de Sousa Gonçalves (“Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction: Between the Hague Convention and the Brussels II bis Regulation”), Fátima Pacheco (“In the search for inclusion : the status of citizenship in the jurisprudence of the CJEU “), and Isa Filipa António (” The Independent Regulation as a Mechanism for Ensuring the Effectiveness of the Right to Health: Regulation of Health in Portugal “).

The program also includes the intervention of Francielle Vieira Oliveira (“Legal harmonization of human rights in treaties of economic integration: to what extent are we in Mercosur?”), Doctoral student at UMinho Law School and CEDU Collaborating Member, Event organizer. In addition, two Collaborating Members of CEDU are members of the Scientific Council of the Congress: Joaquim Freitas da Rocha and Gonçalo de Mello Bandeira.
