The Interdisciplinary Research Center for Human Rights, through its research group on private law – phenomena of constitutionalisation, materialisation and socialization, organizes an international colloquium on the proposal to modernize the Spanish Civil Code on 17 March 2016 in School of Law of the University of Minho.

A Proposal for a draft law on the modernization of the law on obligations and contracts was presented in 2009 in order to adapt the law of obligations and in particular the contract law of the Spanish Civil Code to the new points of view adopted in comparative law and international law (eg in the United Nations Convention on the International Sale of Goods).
