These Conferences Series are promoted by the Serralves Foundation with the institutional support of JUSGOV (with the research groups of DH and CEDU) and with colaboration of Ana Rodrigues, Junior researcher of JusGov.
Speak of utopias means the power of imagination to shape the future, to guide human action and to extend the boundaries of the achievable.
In a context of uncertainty about the future of Europe, the argument that the realizable utopias that put us in a horizon of progress become ever more urgent. That is to say, as is the case with Václav Havel, referring to the European Union, ‘Without dreaming of a better Europe is never better than a better Europe’.
These conferences will discuss several relevant contemporary utopias, such as peace, equality, ecology, hospitality, unconditional basic income, information society and the transformative potential of technology.
